Community Guidelines

1. The spirit — a genuine gift economy

Everything on Trezow is a gift, freely given with no expectation of money, a return gift, or a favour. Give things you truly no longer need, and request things you’ll actually use. No fake listings, no resale scouting, no hoarding to flip.

• Giving is always at the giver’s discretion — they choose who receives, and how.
• No one is ever obliged to give or to accept. You can decline an item after inspecting it, and a giver need not accept returns.
• Received something that didn’t fit your need? Re-gifting it back to the community is welcome.
• All gifts are equal — please don’t haggle over or debate an item’s “value”.

2. Keep it free — always

Trezow is only for free giving. The following are not allowed anywhere on the platform:

• Asking for or offering money, swaps, barter, deposits, or any consideration for an item.
• Reselling items you received free, or using Trezow to source stock for a business.
• Advertising, promoting or linking a business, brand, product or paid service.
• Soliciting money from other users, or running crowdfunding campaigns.
• Job postings, paid work, or offering/requesting services for money.
• Multi-level marketing, recruitment, or collecting members’ details for outside use.
• Directing people to buy the same item or a service elsewhere.

You’re welcome to gift a skill or your time freely (a lift, a lesson, a repair) — just never as a route to a paid arrangement.

3. Be honest — full disclosure

Trust is what makes this work. Describe every item and its true condition honestly — new, gently used, or well-used. Clearly flag defects, missing parts, anything that needs cleaning or repair, and anything heavy or awkward that needs special transport. Never overstate an item or misrepresent what you’re giving.

4. Who can be here

• You must be 18 or older and able to form a binding agreement.
• One personal account per person. No business, brand, or organisation profiles.
• You may give or collect on behalf of family or a neighbour, as long as you handle the exchange yourself.
• Don’t impersonate anyone, or create fake or duplicate accounts.

5. Meet safely

• Prefer a public, well-lit spot for handover, or a busy doorstep in daylight.
• Tell a friend where you’re going and when; bring someone along for large items.
• Use in-app chat to arrange details — you don’t have to share your number.
• Inspect an item before you commit to it.
• Trezow never asks for payment and there’s no shipping desk — never send money, card details, or one-time passwords to anyone claiming to be “Trezow”, a courier, or a giver. That’s a scam; report it.
• Trust your instincts. If something feels off, cancel and report — you never owe anyone an exchange.

6. Prohibited items

Please don’t list:

• Weapons, ammunition, or anything designed to harm.
• Illegal, stolen, counterfeit, or recalled goods.
• Hazardous materials, chemicals, medicines, or prescription-only items.
• Tobacco, vaping products, alcohol, or any controlled substance.
• Food that isn’t sealed, unexpired and safe to pass on.
• Safety-critical second-hand items that may be recalled or expired — e.g. car seats, cribs, helmets. Give only if you know they’re safe and not under recall.
• Living animals.
• Adult or explicit content.
• Digital accounts, keys, credentials, or anything that transfers access rather than a physical thing.
• Anything you don’t own or don’t have the right to give away.

7. What Trezow isn’t for

Trezow is a place to give and receive things — not a noticeboard. Please keep off political campaigning, religious proselytising, crime-watch or surveillance posts, surveys, spam, and any effort to harvest neighbours’ information.

8. Be respectful

Communicate kindly, show up when you commit, and cancel promptly if plans change so the item can go to someone else. Trezow welcomes everyone regardless of race, background, ability, faith, gender, or orientation. Harassment, hate speech, threats, discrimination, pressuring people in private messages, or spam have no place here.

9. Trezow’s role — and yours

Trezow is a neutral venue that simply helps neighbours find each other. We don’t own, take possession of, store, inspect, test, clean, repair, or guarantee any item, and we are not a party to any exchange. Every conversation, meeting and handover happens directly between users and takes place at your own risk.

You are solely responsible for the safety, legality, quality and condition of anything you give or receive, for meeting others safely, and for complying with the law. To the extent permitted by law, Trezow is not liable for items exchanged or for interactions between users. For the full terms, please read our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

10. Reporting, moderation & enforcement

See something that breaks these guidelines? Use Report on any listing, or Block a user to hide each other’s content. Our team reviews reports and may, at our discretion, hide listings, issue a warning, suspend, or permanently ban accounts — without notice for serious or repeated breaches.

For anything urgent or unlawful — theft, threats, or immediate danger — contact your local authorities first (dial 112 in India). Trezow is not an emergency service. For everything else, contact us and a real person will help.
